On Twitter
I got myself an account a few weeks ago, but I only used it to get my posts put out there to people who preferred to get updated that way. I found it confusing and difficult to keep track of and I have Facebook for that sort of thing. Then somebody told me about HootSuite, and I finally tried it today and it’s so much better! It’s free and it is much easier to use and I don’t have to know what all the things mean. I can just click reply or direct message or retweet and it fills in what I need. So here I am finding myself tweeting away this morning. I think I could keep this up. I’ll let you know how it goes, but in case you want to look for me out there I’m Trinmom. I’m still new and I don’t have it on my phone or anything, so I won’t be there every second. But my posts go out every day, and it’s growing on me.
On Brotherly Love
My oldest boy made a card for his sister. He designed it, decorated it, and wrote his thoughts inside. This is what it said – “You are a special girl. I love you. Happy Birthday little girl. I love you most in the (w)hole While (Wide – I’m guessing) world.” He’s going to make a great big brother.
More Website Changes
I used to user Google AdSense, like many of you out there. And then two things happened – 1. I realized that if you’ve ever clicked once on an ad on your own site, Google could wait until you got close to your $100 and then terminate you. Well I’ve clicked. Only 2 ads in about a month and a half, but after hearing other people’s stories, I cut Google AdSense. I figured I wouldn’t be getting the money anyway, so nothing to lose… The other thing was that I looked at the sources of Ad income. Surprisingly, the Ads that were bringing me money were for Adult friend finder Ads (I’m guessing those IMVU ads that are everywhere now) and Smoking. Well I’m not comfortable with promoting either. So I signed up to be an affiliate for some products I approve of, and I’ve started posting them in the body of my posts right at the end. Apparently only Ad Sense ads can easily go between your posts, so this is the only other fairly easy way I can think of. What do you think? Are they obtrusive? Do they bother you? I figure even if you’re not interested, they add a little colour to the post, so no harm done. I’d love to hear from what you think.
Blog for A Cure
I want to take a moment to tell you about a fund raiser for an important cause happening over at Who Knew Reviews. Lani is hosting a bunch of giveaways and you can enter them all just by donating ONE DOLLAR to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. That’s right – if you donate just a single dollar, you can enter all 23 giveaways. Of course larger donations are welcome. And every extra dollar you donate is worth an extra entry in a giveaway of your choice. All of the giveaways are now up and running, and will remain open to new entries until Saturday, at 5 pm EST. Which means time is running out and Lani is still trying to raise $1000. Please visit her today to help her reach her goal. It’s such a worthwhile cause.
